Barefoot Beach Weddings…Carefree and Blissful | St. Simons Island Wedding Planner

I usually blog about wedding trends, colors, etc., but I’ve never posted too much on the marvelous feeling the couples have from getting married barefoot.  Getting married with your toes in the sand, on the beach, is a wedding in paradise and a dream come true for so many.

This is one of my favorite elopement pictures of all time, from a recent elopement on St. Simons Island.  It captures exactly the feeling that all of our barefoot couples feel, once they’ve tied the knot with their toes in the sand….joyful, carefree, blissful, and a little bit wild around the edges.

The Georgia Coast is absolutely the most romantic location in the world to have a beach destination wedding.    We also do beach weddings to fit everyone’s guest list.   If you’ve decided to elope to Georgia’s Golden Isles, for the destination wedding of your dreams, I encourage you to consider St. Simons Elopements.

There’s nothing quite like St. Simons or Jekyll Island Georgia for that intimate, romantic, and relaxed atmosphere, filled with rich southern culture.  Our elopement locations offer you a gorgeous backdrop for seclusion and romance!

St. Simons Elopements  offers several elopement packages along with many wedding amenities that will add to your unique, custom package:  tiki torches, ferns, bamboo arch with flowing white tulle, just to name a few.  Not to mention we have published award winning photographer’s just waiting to photograph your wedding day!

  1. I love photographing beach weddings. I have photographed many weddings inside a church where it’s been close on 35 degrees and the groom who is usually bald has sweat pouring down his face. I mean photoshop should only be used so much, right? Cape Town has some beautiful beaches pity that our municipalities cannot stop the sewerage from pouring into the sea. Anyway, back to topic, beach weddings rock and I agree that the feeling of the sand between your toes cannot be beaten. If you’re planning a beach wedding be sure to choose the best time of year to do this. In addition, be sure to choose a good time to get married as midday sun is also not that flattering casting heavy shadows. And dress casual. No shoes allowed.

    • Thank you for your comment! I agree with you! I usually try to persuade couples to consider a sunset or sunrise beach wedding. Nothing quite as beautiful!
