Renata Zabawa and Caleb Lewis were married on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 6:30pm in an intimate and romantic ceremony on Gould’s Inlet, St. Simons Island, Georgia.
The ceremony took place under a bamboo arbor with white flowing tulle draped from the corners and tied into a bouffant bow at the center of the each pole. Ferns were placed at each corner as the acoustic guitarist, Terry Thrift began the beach wedding music.
As customary during a beach wedding or elopement, passersby stood or sat quietly to view from afar in respect of this reverant and momentus occasion about to take place.
The Minister, Brian Foskey stood in the center of the arbor and the groom Caleb, and best man, Jason took their place under the arbor, as well. As the Maid of Honor, Sarah walked out onto the beach, she also took her place opposite the best man. The only sounds to be heard were the sea gulls, the ocean, and the soft, romantic music from the guitar.
Renata was so very beautiful in her wedding gown of ivory chiffon with sheer back and small sweep train. The bodice was an empire a-line gown with beaded spaghetti straps and beaded embroidered illusion back. She paused for a moment behind the palmetto shrubs before proceeding out onto the beach and to the bamboo arbor to stand before her handsome groom.
She carried a spring bouquet of pink and white roses and lilies and Caleb took her arm as she walked under the arbor while they both faced their minister.
Heartfelt vows were said from memory, before God and witnesses and rings were exchanged before they were pronounced husband and wife. The smiles from these two could not be contained as they waited for the minister to pronounce them husband and wife forever. Caleb kissed his bride so sweetly and they were married at last!
It was the sweetest and most romantic ceremony you could ever imagine. Afterwards, I heard Caleb say, “We did it, we finally did it!” I don’t think either one of them could have smiled any bigger. This is why I love my job!
