True Love Is Amazing | Jekyll Island Destination Elopement Planner

A new day, a new life together!

Eddie Valoy and Chan Floyd were married on Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island, Georgia at 9:30am on Sunday, July 17, 2011 before a few close family members in a romantic and intimate ceremony.

The weather forecast had threatened thunderstorms, but it wasn’t happening on this gorgeous sunlit beach today!  The skies were the bluest of blues and the soft clouds were the whitest of whites.  The only sounds were the waves lapping on the shore against the century’s old driftwood and the seagulls, pelicans, and sandpipers chirping as they flew above and found a perch to sit upon nearby.

Eddie arrived early to meet with me and to talk with the photographer a bit.  He was so handsome in his dark tan suit as his mom and sister pinned on his boutonniere.  He was obviously very excited and anxious to see his beautiful bride when she arrived.

Eddie and Luke, the photographer walked down the sandy path to the chosen beach location, along with his mom and sister.  The tide was up and higher than usual due to the full moon, and the waves were huge, producing white foam with each lapping tease of the wave.

I waited for Chan to arrive before walking down to the beach and took a few minutes to meet her mom, sister, and nephew.  Chan was so pretty and her smile was radiant as she stepped from the vehicle.  Her dress was a long, flowing, ivory chiffon and satin gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline and empire bodice.  Her dark brown hair held an ivory handmade flower on the side and she carried a beautiful bridal bouquet of seasonal flowers and calla lilies.

Chan was given in marriage by her Mom and they both followed me, along with her sister and nephew down to the beach to the chosen location among the driftwood scenery.

I walked ahead and stood with Eddie and we both waited for his beautiful bride to appear.  Chan stood in the distance as Eddie took his first look.  He was in awe of her beauty and whispered to himself….ahhh.  He nodded his head, as if to say, “Yes, this is my beloved!”.

As their eyes locked, they both repeated their vows with deep love and adoration for each other.  Rings were exchanged and I pronounced them husband and wife.  Eddie kissed his bride and I saw the radiance that glowed all around them.  True love is amazing!

“You are the answer to every prayer I’ve offered. You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I don’t know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have.” ~ Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook).
