Susie and Chowder Moore are more in love today after 25 years of marriage then they were on their wedding day on April 15, 1989, at Isaac Park Church in Louisa, Kentucky. They chose to renew their wedding vows on the beach at St. Simons Island, GA to celebrate a quarter century of married life.
The weekend was crowded with many tourist since this was Spring Break and the first warm weekend. That didn’t deter the happiness and smiles these two wore as they met me at the beach at Gould’s Inlet for a 4 pm ceremony. Standing alongside Chowder and Susie were their 2 children, Matthew and Shelby, as well as a few close friends and relatives.
Susie was beautiful in her ivory gown and tiara and Chowder was as handsome as ever in his white linen shirt and khaki pants. The two were easily brought back to their original wedding day as they stood facing each other and holding hands as the ceremony began. Words of love and commitment were spoken as they each read letters to each other from the heart. Chowder presented Susie with a ring, the vows were renewed and they were pronounced husband and wife…AGAIN!
When two people pledge their love and care for each other in marriage, they create a spirit unique unto themselves which binds them closer than any spoken or written words.
