Tara and Tyler’s 5th Wedding Anniversary | Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island Event Planner

When Tyler Hardy called a month ago, he wanted something extra special and romantic for his wife, Tara, for their 5 year wedding anniversary.  We tossed around different ideas and decided on a romantic set up on the beach for just the two of them for wine and a light dessert.  It sounded awesome!

The tide was on its way out when I arrived with my crew on Driftwood Beach.  We began setting up in front of one of the gorgeous driftwood trees.  The tiki torches were set in the sand in a circle with the table and chairs in the center.  All the other amenities were set around, including the picnic basket of food and drink and the table was set with china plates, cloth napkins, and utinsils.  The wine had been chilled on ice and ready to pour.  Time to light the torches!

Tyler and Tara had been sunning on the beach all afternoon on St. Simons Island and had planned to go out to dinner for the evening.  After dinner, Tyler planned to take Tara on a romantic stroll along Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island.  They would just happen to walk by the surprise romantic set up and see the sign that said, “Tara and Tyler . Happy Anniversary!”

Tara knew something was up, but had no idea what it would be.  She knew Tyler loved seeing all the driftwood on the beach and the rustic look of the beach, so the walk on the beach seemed completely normal.  They arrived on Driftwood Beach as the sun was setting in the west and dusk had slowly moved in.  The glow of the torches were shining bright and Tara saw them as soon as they stepped onto the beach.  They held hands together as they walked over to their romantic surprise.  Tyler gave me a quick thumbs up!  🙂

They sat down at the quaint little table and opened the bottle of wine.  The wine was poured and strawberries and pound cake were tasted as they marveled on how awesome this all felt.  So intimate and romantic.  That Tyler Hardy is a keeper!
