Lisa Pfau and Weston Eighmy were married on Sunday evening, June 29, 2014, at 6PM on Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island, Georgia, before 30 of their closest family and friends. The double ring ceremony was held under a massive driftwood tree with a huge limb that had been bent over from the wind and elements and shaped itself into an arch.
The white wedding chairs were all set up and the violinist, Chris Dooley, began to play as the guests arrived and took a seat. Rev. Schulte and Weston, the groom, stood in place at the tree to wait for the ceremony to begin. Weston was so handsome and wore a grey suit with teal shirt and dark teal tie. He opted for bare feet and rolled up pant legs. Perfect for the beach!
“Ave Maria” was played on the violin as Weston’s mom, Vivian Christfield was escorted and seated by Lisa’s brother, David Pfau. Lisa’s mom, Mary Pfau, was escorted and seated by her other son, and Lisa’s brother, Cory Pfau. Both moms wore beautiful corsages of yellow with green accents.
Lisa, the bride, and her dad, Dwight Pfau, proceeded down the beach to the ceremony location as the violinist played “Canon in D”. The guests all stood as she approached the aisle and Weston saw his bride for the first time in her beautiful wedding gown. Lisa was glowing as she smiled at Weston and she was presented by her dad.
Lisa was effortlessly beautiful in her gorgeous white slim tank tulle mermaid gown featuring an ultra-feminine deep v neckline. The contoured vertical beading on the bodice and sweep train made this gown even more beautiful as she walked down the aisle. She carried a bouquet of yellow gerber daisies and babies breath with wrapped stems. So simple, yet so pretty!
As the two were pronounced husband and wife, Weston kissed his bride and the guests all cheered. The violinist played, “Beyond The Sea” while the newly married couple exited the aisle.
The photographer, Luke Smith continued with their photography on Driftwood Beach until time to depart for the reception at Coastal Kitchen on St. Simons Island. The reception was held in a private dining room with a magnificent view of the Marina on the waterfront of the Frederica River.
Weston and Lisa arrived at Coastal Kitchen and everyone clapped and cheered as they entered the room. After a cold beverage, everyone found a seat for dinner. Several friends and family stood to read heartfelt wishes and toasts to the happy couple. No lack of talent among these folks for coming up with great rhyming to tell their messages.
Dinner was served and every guest had a choice from 5 different entrees which were offered. A difficult choice to make since it was all delectable and delicious! Lots of fun conversations going on at all 4 tables!
The wedding cakes were cut and served while Lisa and Weston enjoyed their first dance together as husband and wife. They had been practicing and were adorable as they danced and Weston twirled is bride to the music. Next was the father-daughter dance with Lisa and her dad. She looked so sweet in her daddy’s arms.
The evening began to wind down with Lisa and Weston opening a gift from the Eighmy family and friends. It was 2 beautiful Waterford Crystal champagne flutes to use right now! Weston popped the cork on a very special bottle of champagne out of Las Vegas from a special friend of his mom’s, who had passed away. The champagne was poured and Lisa and Weston enjoyed an intertwined toast together.
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” ― Pablo Neruda
