Hope and Christopher On A Rainy Day | Jekyll Island Officiant

Rain in Coastal Georgia comes and goes quickly around here.  We always say, if you don’t like the weather, just wait a bit and it will change.  It’s not 30% chance of rain, it’s 70% chance of sun!  But that wasn’t the case on this rainy Saturday.  Rain drizzled and sprinkled most all day on Saturday, July 5, 2014.  It was the type of rain that intermittent wipers were invented for.

As the time got closer to 7pm, it sure seemed like Hope and Christopher’s beach elopement may be a rain out and be moved to the Pavilion at Villas by the Sea.  But no, They came here to get married on the beach, and that’s exactly what was going to happen, come rain or shine!

Hope and Christopher had chosen a quaint little location on the beach between driftwood trees for the ceremony and Tammy, at Villas by the Sea arrived early to arrange seashells in the sand in the shape of a heart.  Two tiki torches were lit and placed on each side, as well.

The two love birds arrived right on time and walked the path to the beach together.  They each stood within the heart formed by the seashells and I stood just outside the heart and began the romantic ceremony.  The rain was light and hardly noticeable at all as Tammy took a few pictures for Hope and Christopher.

They said their vows and a few more rain drops began to fall.  Tammy helped us out by holding the wedding rings as they were exchanged so I could hold the umbrella.  They were pronounced husband and wife and Christopher kissed Hope!  It was so romantic and perfect for these two!  A huge guest list is definitely not a requirement for a romantic wedding and this elopement was proof.  Hope and Christopher were glowing with happiness as they stood together, arm in arm.  The sun was just over the horizon.
