Beach Wedding Style

  • Casual Beach Wedding – Have it your way!  You’ll love wearing a long flowing dress, while your groom wears a loose linen shirt.  A simple seasonal flower bouquet is perfect and you may even a wear a Hawaiian Lei.  Intimate ceremonies where the guests stand and circle the couple for their vows are my favorite!  You can even ask everyone at your beach wedding to hold hands and surround you with love.  Have cold water or lemonade available for your guests, as well as a picnic lunch or BBQ.  Most importantly, have fun and enjoy!

  • Formal Beach Wedding – Perfect for ceremonies at sunset over the ocean.  You’ll want to set up chairs for your guests, an aisle runner, and walkways so that you and your guests in high heels won’t sink in the sand. Hiring a wedding coordinator is the best way to make sure a formal beach wedding goes smoothly.  Afterwards, have your reception at a nearby elegant resort, restaurant, or club.

  • Semi-Formal Beach Wedding: Both intimate and romantic!  You can have relaxed intimacy and still have the traditional touches of a formal wedding. Have your reception on the beach, as well and use white tablecloths with starfish as accents and paperweights, centerpieces of beach grass, driftwood, shells, and rocks, or simple pitchers of seasonal flowers.

  1. I want to have a ceremony on the beach on Saint Simon’s. I am having trouble finding a vendor that can accommodate about 75 people. Do you have any suggestions?

    • Glynn County does not require a permit to have your wedding ceremony on the beach. Chairs can be set up on the beach down near Gould’s Inlet. I would advise reserving the Trolley for your guests, as the parking is minimal.
